Starting a Med Spa?
Build the Brand
Before the Doors Open.
Positioning, naming, brand identity, website, founder content, and a pre-launch campaign — for physicians, nurse practitioners, and injectors opening their first aesthetics practice. So you open with an audience, not an empty calendar.
Most new med spas open
looking like every other med spa.
The lease is signed, the devices are ordered, the build-out is underway — and the brand is a logo picked in a week, a template website, and a feed of treatment stills from a device manufacturer. The practice opens, and nobody can tell it apart from the three others on the same road.
ZOE Creative IO works with new clinics from before the name exists. We define the position, build the identity, produce the content, launch the website, and run the pre-launch campaign — so the practice is recognizable the first time a patient sees it.
In aesthetic medicine, the brand is the first procedure. It decides which patients walk in.
Physicians
Surgeons, dermatologists, and MDs opening a first aesthetics practice or adding a med spa to an existing clinic.
Nurse Practitioners & PAs
Providers leaving a group practice to open under their own name — and who need the brand to carry that name.
Nurse Injectors
Injectors with a loyal patient base who are ready to open a space of their own.
Partners & Investors
Teams funding a new med spa who want it positioned as premium from the first day it is public.
How to brand and launch a new med spa.
Six phases, timed backward from opening day. Every phase builds on the one before it, which is why the order matters more than the budget.
- 016 – 4 months before opening
Positioning & Name
Who you are for, what you refuse to be, and the name that holds it. We study the market you are entering — the practices already there, how they look, where the gap is — and define a position you can own. Naming, trademark screening, and domain acquisition happen here, before any design.
- 024 – 3 months before opening
Brand Identity
Logo system, typography, color, photography direction, tone of voice, and the brand guidelines your future team will follow. This is the identity that goes on the door, the website, the syringes case, and every Instagram post for the next decade.
- 033 – 2 months before opening
Founder & Provider Content
Patients choose a person before they choose a practice. We produce the founder film, provider portraits, and the environment photography that make the clinic feel real while it is still under construction.
- 042 – 1 months before opening
Website & Booking
A website designed to convert a first-time visitor into a consultation — treatment pages, provider pages, pricing philosophy, and booking integrated with your practice software. Built on the identity, not a template.
- 056 weeks before – opening day
Pre-Launch Campaign
Waitlist, founding-member offers, soft-open events, and a content calendar that builds an audience before the doors open. By opening day the practice already has followers, inquiries, and a booked first month.
- 06Opening onward
Ongoing Creative Direction
Monthly content production, campaign concepts, and brand consistency as the team grows. The brand stays recognizable while the practice scales.
Five mistakes new med spas make
before they open.
Designing the logo before the position
A logo chosen from a few options on a screen cannot carry a practice. Position first, name second, identity third.
Using the same template every med spa uses
Beige, serif, botanical, "glow." It is the default look of the category and it makes a new practice invisible on day one.
Building the website last
The website is where every referral, every Instagram visit, and every Google search lands. It should be live and converting before the ribbon is cut.
Launching with no content
Opening with stock photos and treatment stills from a device manufacturer tells patients you are new. Founder and environment content tells them you are serious.
Competing on price from the start
Discount launches attract the patients that discount launches attract. A premium brand attracts patients who stay.
How do I start a med spa from a branding standpoint?+
Start with positioning: who the practice is for, what it stands for, and how it differs from the med spas already in the market. Then name it, build a brand identity, produce founder and environment content, launch a website that books consultations, and run a pre-launch campaign so you open with an audience. ZOE Creative IO handles this entire sequence for new clinics.
When should I start branding a new med spa?+
Ideally six months before opening, and no later than four. Naming, trademark checks, identity design, website build, and content production take time, and the pre-launch campaign needs several weeks of runway to build a waitlist.
How much does it cost to open a med spa?+
Total build-out costs vary widely by market, square footage, device mix, and staffing — most new clinics budget anywhere from the low six figures up. Brand, website, and launch content are a small share of that total but shape what every other dollar earns. We scope brand and launch work to the practice and discuss investment on a strategy call.
Do you help with the med spa business plan?+
We contribute the brand, positioning, and marketing sections — competitive analysis, target patient definition, brand strategy, launch plan, and content budget. Financial modeling, licensing, and medical director structure should come from your attorney, accountant, and compliance advisor.
Can you name a new med spa?+
Yes. Naming is part of the positioning phase, including trademark and domain screening and a shortlist built around the position rather than trends.
Do you build med spa websites?+
Yes. We design and build websites for new and established med spas, with treatment pages, provider pages, and booking integration. See our med spa website design page.
I am a nurse injector opening my own practice. Is this for me?+
Yes. Injectors and nurse practitioners opening a first space are a large share of our new-clinic work. Your personal brand and the practice brand are built together.
Do you work with new med spas outside Dallas–Fort Worth?+
Yes. We are based in Fort Worth and work with new practices throughout DFW and nationwide. Content production is scheduled on site.
What happens after I reach out?+
You share the practice, the opening timeline, and where you are in the process. We reply within two business days with a strategy call to define the position and scope the launch.
Tell us when you open.
We'll work backward from there.
